Training courses offered by IHMP

The Institute of Health Management, Pachod (IHMP) was established in 1986 as a regional intermediary NGO which can serve as a resource and training centre, especially for other NGOs in the country. Several training programmes have been organised by the Institute over the last 14 years. The broad objectives of the training programmes are to develop skills in the management and implementation of community health programmes.

IHMP offers short training courses on: Management of Primary Health Care, Child Health and Nutrition, Reproductive Health, Programme Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Community Development through Children and Information, Education and Communication (IEC).

Since 1986, the Institute has trained over 3000 NGO and Government functionaries. Faculty from various premier institutions related to health and development are invited to provide the theoretical content related to health and management concepts. Experienced residential faculty provide field based training and cater to the individual needs of the trainees. IHMP has received trainees from most States in India and several other countries, which include Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, etc.

The venue of all the courses is IHMP campus at Pachod. Pachod is a village located 57 Km. south of Aurangabad on the Aurangabad-Beed highway in Maharashtra. Boarding and lodging facilities are available on the campus.

Information to reach Pachod

The Institute of Health Management, Pachod, is 56 Kms. form Aurangabad City in Maharashtra. It is on the Aurangabad-Beed highway, and is well connected by road.

Travel

Air Travel
The Aurangabad airport is linked with Pune, Bombay, New Delhi and Hyderabad. Taxis are available at the Airport. Taxi fare from Airport to Pachod is about Rs. 250.

Train
There is no railway station at Pachod. The nearest railway station is Aurangabad on the Manmad-Kachiguda (Hyderabad), Aurangabad- Bombay broad gage railway line. Participants travelling from North, East and West India will have to change trains at Manmad railway station (113Kms from Aurangabad) and to reach Aurangabad, get in to a Manmad-Kachiguda or Manmad-Nanded train, all of which stop at Aurangabad Station, from where local buses and auto rickshaws are available to go to the Central Bus Stand. There are direct trains to Aurangabad form Hyderabad (Kachiguda-Manmad Section). There are trains form Kanyakumari, Cochin, Chennai and Bangalore towards Mumbai. Those travelling on this route should detain at Solapur. To reach Pachod from Solapur, direct State Transport buses to Aurangabad are available, with Pachod coming 58 kms before Aurangabad.

(N.B. On the Central Railway, between Jalgaon and Manmad there is a railway station named PACHORA. Those coming across this station should not get down at this station).

Bus Services
Direct state transport bus services is available from Bombay, Pune, Nagpur, Kolharpur, Indore, Surat and Hyderabad to Aurangabad. Private luxury bus services are also available to Aurangabad.

At the Aurangabad Central Bus Stand, state transport buses are available for Pachod on the Platform No. 5. All buses going from Aurangabad towards Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Solapur, etc. stop at Pachod. The bus ride form Aurangabad to Pachod is 90 minutes.

Pachod

When you get down in Pachod, come out of the Bus stand and start walking towards left. Approximate 150 meters away left, you will see a board saying "Ashish Gram Rachna Trust / Institute of Health Management Pachod".
